My bf tried working out  with me today, he is considerably bigger so he only worked out for 40 minutes but got quite a bit more out of the exercises, he worked up a sweat much faster then me and burned 318 calories which was more then I burned, even though I worked out for 25 minutes longer.


His favorite ones were the soccer heading, running, and boxing.
He liked the activities that were actually games better, though we didn't put a straight workout routine together for him this time.


We ended up having a soccer/boxing war sadly he beat me in both, but I came pretty close in the boxing.


Hopefully I will start showing more weight loss soon, though I do feel more defined

Unlocked another challenge today!
The PLANK challenge, HAH I will probly never do that one unless I turn into some crazy amazon body builder, I hate planks and can barely do the 30 second one on my strength/yoga list.


Last night and this morning I wasn't feeling well and it woke me up several times. I also stayed in bed until noon!  But I still got up and ate a healthy breakfast and did my workout, I actually feel a lot better now.


I am pretty impressed with myself that I have been working out an hour every time so far! I thought I would all ready be slacking off and just putting in half an hour!


I find this so much better then work out videos because I can personalize it for myself, and see results specific to me!


Tomorrow my boyfriend is going to try it with me! I will let you know how he likes it as well, just in case any male readers are interested.

It said I gained a little weight, but I think its just because my muscles are a little swollen from being worked out, and I have been drinking TONS of water.



I unlocked 2 challenges today, the jackknife challenge and the push up challenge.  I haven't tried either yet because I dont like jackknifes that much and dont find they workout my core as much as bicycle crunches and weighted crunches. I also just haven't mastered the pushup yet, when I do push ups with the wii in my strength/yoga circuits I do the easy kind, i.e on my knees with my ankles crossed.


Today was the perfect amount of strength, and I really liked the exercises I picked, it got me sweating quite a bit.


When I did the free step, I ignored the rhythmic sound and stepped faster sometimes using hand weights.  I did almost 3000 steps today.


Suki wouldn't let me weigh her today, and for most of my exercise watched me from under the table, yawning and rolling around as if I was crazy and tiring her out by just looking at me.


I will take that as a good sign :)



The Second Morning

Once again my calves really hurt, I am starting to wonder if I was doing a move wrong, or just really really correctly.  Today I think I am going to have to just stick to stepping and maybe some planks, crunches and pushups.

Still feels good to know that its working, I definitely feet better :)

For breakfast I had 2 scrambled eggs and some salsa, because I read somewhere that eggs keep you fuller longer, and help whittle your waist.

I didn't stick to alternating arms and legs because there really aren't that  many arm exercises that just work out arms.  I really enjoyed my work out today. My favorite strength move is definitely the arm and leg lift , the lunges, and the rowing squat ( which I do with hand weights)

One thing I wish the wii fit plus included was a really good warm up and cool down with just stretches and maybe some jumping jacks to follow along with.  I know you can obviously do this yourself, but not everyone will realize they should and may get injured.

Once again, I love the free step!

The First Morning

I don't know why I didn't think the wii workouts were that hard.  My body is really hurting.
My abs and all the way around my torso hurts, as well as my calves ALOT!

It is definitely a good feeling, though I don't know how I am going to do any leg exercises thats how bad my calves hurt.

I think from now on I am going to break up my days into different arms and legs days.

Because my arms really don't hurt that much today, I need to find better exercises for them.

I know they have push ups, but I can't really do a push up yet so yesterdays attempt was pitiful.

Yesterday was my first real day with the wii fit plus. I had all ready created a profile after I had been dieting and exercising for a bit, but on Christmas  morning before my Christmas and new years binge.  When I signed on my wii promptly scolded me for not being there for ten days, weighed me, told me I had gained 4 pounds and asked me what could have possibly made me gain so much weight.  I picked the ate too much option, and began my journey.

I started off with a balance test, let me just say I am not very well balanced, and the fact that it just throws you into these balance games with no real idea what you are doing doesn't help. Either way, the wii told me that I probably tripped a lot when I walked.

So far, I am not overly encouraged haha!

Once I  was allowed to go into training mode I went to the locker room, and tried out the option for creating a seamless workout so I didnt have to click back to the menu every time.  I picked 20 minutes of strength and  yoga exercises, and started.  One thing I kept putting down my wii remote because it would get in the way and then I would realize I needed to click the next button or something. I also hated that you had to hold the wii remote while doing certain exercises because I feel it got in the way of my form.

But all together the workout was pretty good.  I did work up a bit of a sweat, even though I didnt find it too hard.

After I finished my list of exercises I went into the aerobics section and did the hula hoops game, which I really love, and makes me feel like I'm working my abs tons. I found it really fun, and worked up a sweat.  I also did the boxing game, which I had tried previously and had unlocked the expert version of, I also really like the boxing game, it doesn't get my heart racing unless I put a lot of power behind my punches, so I really do and it makes it that much better.

For the rest of my workout I did the free workouts, I started with 10 minutes of free stepping and watched tv while doing it.  After your done it vibrates and then you go back to the screen and it tells you how many steps you have done, I did 815. I decided that I really liked the option to watch tv and workout, but the stepping wasn't doing much because the wii board is so low to the ground.

I grabbed a bunch of mats I had laying around from when we had a home exercise gym and stacked them till they were almost a foot high and put my wii board on top.  I did another 20 minute free step this way, and it worked alot better. 1706 steps this time.

For my last ten minutes of my wii workout I did the free run, tucked the wii remote into my pants and just ran as much as I could.  That really tired me out.

Later in the day I decided that the jackknife sit ups I did during the strength and yoga segment weren't enough for me so I did 100 crunches while holding my 3 pound hand weights in each hand.

Introductions to my little project.

Hi, I'm Chelsea.  I am a 21 year old makeup artist from Canada, who has a secret love for video games, and has very little time for (or is it very little drive for?) working out.

My boyfriend recently got me a wii fit plus for Christmas, as just prior to the holiday season I had decided that I was finally serious about losing weight. And had been struggling along with workout videos like Jillian Micheal's 30 day challenge and trying to stay motivated.

Of course as Christmas and new years came about, I stopped my new healthy food diet and began eating copious amounts of chocolate, and working out fell by the wayside. Luckily for me healthy eating isn't the hard part, so I have easily gotten right back on that diet. I love vegetables....

After reading a couple different peoples blogs, and experiences with their wii fit, and how they used it every day and lost weight and felt better, I have decided to do it as well.

I will work out a minimum of 5 days a week, for those 5 days I will work out for an hour.
I will record my findings, my workouts, how I am feeling and reacting to the game, how I feel the next morning, how much my cat weighs even!

I am going to start my challenge at 4 weeks 5 days a week including a healthier diet, and see where that gets me.

Hopefully because its a video game, i will stay motivated and find something that really works for me.
